The new Roval Rapide Cockpit is more than just the fastest way to get to the finish line. It's the fastest attachment we've ever made, with big aerodynamic benefits, shaving an extra four watts from the lightning-fast combination of Rapide handlebars and Tarmac stem. But to offer a winning advantage, more than pure aerodynamics is needed. The goal for the Roval engineering team was simple: the Cockpit Rapide had to be the fastest handlebar we'd ever made, without compromise. It's aerodynamic, light, stiff and designed in collaboration with the world's best athletes and our Retül Fit experts, so you can grab victory.

AERODYNAMICS: the removal of the connecting components between the stem and the handlebar allowed us to design the profile of the handlebar in a wing-like manner. We've optimized this airfoil to provide the maximum advantage in clear air at speeds found in long solo escapes and even full sprints on the World Tour. While a four watt improvement may seem small, it results in a 32cm advantage over one final sprint of 250 m. When races are won by throwing the bike, that's a winning difference.

LIGHT AND STIFF: By removing the components connecting the stem to the handlebar, the Cockpit Rapide is 50 grams lighter (100mm x 420mm) than the Rapide handlebar and Tarmac stem combination. Made from premium high modulus carbon fiber, which offers the ideal stiffness for the biggest and fastest sprinters on the World Tour, the Cockpit Rapide has a higher stiffness-to-weight ratio than any two-piece system we've ever made.

POSITION: The downside of one-piece cockpits has long been positioning, but we've partnered with our Retül Fit professionals and top athletes to ensure that nearly every rider can find their right riding position. We offer 15 different stem and handlebar combinations, all at -6 degrees, so we cover most racing positions. The radius from the top to the drops has been sculpted for freedom of wrist movement both out of the saddle and tucked into an aerodynamic position, while the curvature and flare reflect our favorite Rapide handlebar.
