S-Works Aethos – Campagnolo LTD

The world's lightest road racing bike, created for the pure pleasure of pedaling, the Aethos, now breaks with tradition again. This Limited Edition will be produced in just 300 examples worldwide. Each hand-dipped, and fitted with the new Campagnolo Super Record EPS groupset and Hyperon wheels. The S-Works Aethos LTD with Campagnolo Super Record EPS is the new standard in the ultra-high-end racing bike category.
Creating the lightest industrial production frame in the world - 585 grams - was the result of 49 years of experience, and this is the ideal canvas to celebrate the founding of Specialized. In 1973 it was the love of cycling that inspired Mike Sinyard to sell his Volkswagen, and leave for Italy. On this trip, Mike fell in love with the quality and beauty of Italian components. His mission became to bring these products to American cyclists, and thus Specialized Bicycle Components was born. Combining the Aethos with a top-level Italian product is paying homage to Mike's passion for cycling, and to the culture of cycling in Italy.
The S-Works Aethos frame was designed to create the perfect combination of ride quality, lightness and style - to be able to accelerate even on steep climbs, descend the most technical descents and to be comfortable even during long Sunday rides. But you may ask, how did we do it? We've re-invented the traditional road bike shape of the past, changing it slightly to optimize stiffness and balance, without compromising weight or strength. With a completely new lay-up, perfected over many decades, you get the lightest frame on the market (585 grams for the S-Works frame size 56). The Aethos is more than a new bike, it's the start of a new generation.
A very light frame is useless if the driving characteristics do not inspire confidence. That's why for the Aethos we looked for the perfect mix of front and rear stiffness in relation to ride quality. By studying the flexibility and every little detail of carbon fibers, we discovered a lot about how forces pass through the frame. A few pedal strokes will be enough for you to realize that the Aethos represents a new standard of driving.
For this Aethos Limited Edition, Campagnolo has supplied the brand new Super Record EPS groupset and Hyperon wheels. The new 2x12 group is precise and fast wireless. The Campagnolo Hyperon wheels are very light and therefore perfect for the climbing capabilities of the Aethos.
